Islamic Prayer Times is particularly useful for Muslims who cannot hear the traditional call-to-prayers. It can help them accurately calculate the prayer times for their location and reminds them about the next Azan.
The first thing you need to do is select your location, so that the application can re-calculate the prayer times taking into consideration the time zone you are in. The list of countries covers the entire Globe and the geographical coordinates are automatically determined.
The main window of Islamic Prayer Times displays all the five prayer times (Dhuhur, Asr, Maghrib, Isha and Fajar), along with the sunrise time. The next prayer time is highlighted and the remaining time is clearly displayed.
There are multiple calculation methods that the application can use, namely Ithna Ashari, ISNA, Muslim World League, Umm Al Qura, University of Islamic Sciences, Egyptian General Authority of Survey and Institute of Geophysics from the University of Teheran. Moreover, you can choose from two available juristic methods (Hanafi or Standard - Imams Shafi, Hanbali and Maliki).
Once configured, the application can be minimized to the system tray. When it's time for praying, it rings the Azan, which is the call-to-prayer. There are multiple notification sounds that you can choose from, but unfortunately, customizing the sound alarm is not possible.
The other tools included in the package help you determine the Qibla direction depending on your location and convert a date from the Hijri to the Gregorian calendar. more
